‘Salusalo para kay Kuya’ receives two citations from Nat’l Children’s Book Awards

GP_NCBA-SalusaloThe National Children’s Book Awards (NCBA) are given every other year by the National Book Development Board and the Philippine Board on Books for Young People. What sets this award apart from many of local institutional awards is the citation that comes with each award. Each citation is written by a member of the awards’ board of judges.

This year, Salusalo para kay Kuya (a book I co-created with JC Galag), received two NCBA citations: one for Best Reads for Kids and one for being a Kids’ Choice finalist. (Yehey!)

CITATION FOR BEST READS FOR KIDS

CITATION FOR KIDS’ CHOICE FINALIST

It taught me that no matter what happens, we should continue our life by keeping and treasuring the good and happy memories of our loved ones, because everything happens for a reason.

We also need to be strong to make our dreams come true by making our loved ones the reason why we remain strong. It’s good for children because of its illustration that can get the children’s interest, and simple words make the story great.

To know the story behind the story, here is a post about the events and the people that helped create this book.
